West Chester Tea Party
A Non-Partisan Group
Course Description:
This nation’s economic education has been
wasted. Typically college students spend three semesters just getting basic economics and microeconomics before being exposed to a semester of macroeconomics, the economics of an entire economy. Typically the student learns ways government can intervene in the economy to “create jobs” or in other ways “rescue capitalism”, not recognizing that similar past attempts at government intervention have created the “bubbles” and inevitable busts that these interventions were intended to prevent. Henry Hazlitt wrote a remarkable book, Economics in One Lesson, about the fallacies on which government interventions are based and why free market capitalism is the only economic system that has consistently proven to create prosperity.
